Ford's first DOHC Big Block .. what year ??
Did u guess 1942? .. This is a motor my neighbor has ..
Ford 1942 model GAA WWII tank engine is a 5.40 bore x 6.00 stroke - 1100 CID DOHC 60 degree V8 weighing 1560 lbs wet.It puts out 500 HP gross,450 HP net @ 2600 RPM ; and torque is 1040 gross,950 net @ 2200 RPM.It has 4 valves per cylinder, and the 4 cams are driven by "vertical" shafts.... (the one he has is twin turbo charged with about a 3/8 steel plate over the whole plenum area held down with about 20 valve springs for a pressure release)
can't find a pic of it .. and his is buried now ..
SB (amazing .. we be talking BIG block here)
