Maybe during testing the suspension was firmer (didn't someone say that it was 'solid' to facilitate downforce measurements?) and the problem didn't show up, for the same reason it could well occur to differing degrees depending on the circuit (haven't heard reports of it happening for SBR at Queensland yet)
it is a concern if the Ford teams need to significantly compromise suspension setup to prevent the splitter grinding itself to bits...
