In other news

Jason Bright had two offs while trying to match the quick times of Skaife and Bowe, first short cutting the track in the esses and then sliding off on the Chase.

Greg Ritter (shell 18) blew an engine late in the session, leaving a trail of oil across the top that effectively ruined any chance of beating Bowe’s time. Paul Morris slid off the track in the oil and buried his car in the sandtrap.

Craig Lowndes glanced the wall at the Cutting early and bent the steering, so once he had a good time the car was parked.

The much criticised kerbing at Reid Park will be removed tonight, and replaced with new lowed kerbing.

Interesting results from the DJR shed.

Alan Jones in the top 15...great work for a part time driver in his mid 50's.. still got a bit of that 1980 spirit in him..

Easily outqualified one of the team's top full-timer.
