Holden needs 'Rest of Year' to offload HRT

In an article in today's DRIVE online, this was tacked onto the end of an article about a possible February date for next year's Melbourne F1 GP;

Quote:
Meanwhile, Holden Motorsport manager John Stevenson yesterday said it could take much of the rest of the year for the car maker to dispose of its interests in the Holden Racing Team.

TEGA, the touring car entrants group that oversees regulations for V8 supercar racing, has ruled that no maker can own a race team. Holden stepped in to take over the assets of the British TWR group -- which controlled HRT, Kmart Racing and Team Brock squads -- last month after it collapsed.

Stevenson says the Team Brock operation has been hived off as a separate entity, and Holden could copy the model Ford has used in establishing its Ford Performance Racing squad, in which British motor sport specialist Prodrive owns 51 percent and Ford Performance Vehicles owns 49 percent

What a load of crok.
What is this Stevenson on about?!?? FPV is a jointly owned venture between Provide and Ford whereas FPR is solely owned by Provide.
I quote from a previous press release "Ford Performance Racing is 100% owned by Prodrive Ford Motor Company of Australia has no equity in the team."

It took Holden only a couple of weeks to buy HRT from Walkinshaw so it should only take around the same time to offload it.

They should be banned. It should have been settled, i am sorry, but for a team to break the rules, they should be banned until they are offloaded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is BS!

I just sent an email to drive pointing out that the facts are incorrect. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Noone has yet been able to tell me how Holden owning the HRT franchise will make one lick of difference to the racing this year ...

I just hope that unlike their fans, the Ford teams are spending more time racing, and less time complaining.

I honestly believe that Holden owning HRT will NOT make a difference.

However, at the start of the year, ALL teams would of been made aware of the rules for the year.

Holden then blatantly went outside the rules.......

Again, I don't think that Holden owning HRT would make a difference, but at the end of the day, they knew the rules.
