Thumbs down HRT Testing

Posted on another forum (ten tenths) is discussion that there is a HRT car over in the USA currently being run on a test rig. Neatly avoids any test bans in Australia, and must deliver a truck load of interesting data.

As far as I can tell it isn't against the rules, but surely creates a level of madness in the sport that should be looked at.

Do we really want a championship where to be competitive you need to be able to ship/fly a car overseas, or set up your own rig in Australia... I guess as the competition becomes closer, teams have to expolit what ever opportunity they can find, but how long can the sport in Australia afford this kind of expense ?

Re: HRT Testing

if its true, thats a pretty dodgey act. But good on them for thinking of it, I bet you wouldn't see Ford thinking of that.

Still though, what is stopping HRT or FPV from testing there engines in other shells around th eworld, not much Id bet.

But yeah I dont agree with it.

Typical slippery buggers.... They'll go to any lengths to worm their way around the rules.

Re: HRT Testing

Prodrive have a rig over in England but they said they wouldn't be using it for FPR when they were asked last year.

Re: HRT Testing

Certainly makes it harder for the smaller teams who already have enough trouble with a limited budget

Re: HRT Testing

It's up to the powers that be to stamp it out, if that's what TEGA and the other teams want.

HRT aren't breaking the rules, they are just spending their money in the right places
