HRT Wiregate

On Ch10 news tonight, car 22 at Surfers had an illegal wiring loom. There will be a hearing tomorrow morning apparently.

Re: HRT Wiregate

Anyone know what the illegality is? The result of this will be very interesting. At worst I would imagine a $10,000 fine the same as SBR. I'll be screaming shenanigans if they get away with it like Kmart did earlier this year

Re: HRT Wiregate

My bad earlier, it was PWR (another HRT team) that had a wiring breach at Adelaide.

On nine msn: Ford Fumes

A war of words has broken out between Ford and Holden over alleged technical breaches by HRT.

Ford officials have accused V8 officials of double standards after Holden was called to explain an irregularity in Todd Kelly's car at the Surfers Paradise round.

A similar breach from Ford driver and likely series champion Marcos Ambrose in July resulted in a public furore in the immediate aftermath and Ford motorsport manager Stephen Kruk told AAP that it appeared Holden had escaped the same scrutiny.

"We need to understand why the system hasn't dealt with these two issues equally," Kruk said. "Not only has Holden got nearly three weeks to work on their defence, they've got away without any public scrutiny and without any damage to the brand in the way that Ford and Stone Brothers Racing were attacked."

"We had people from Holden like Mark Skaife and Larry Perkins (Castrol Perkins Racing team owner) accusing us of cheating. And what we're equally concerned about is who was able to create an environment of silence for 18 days in this case?"

The hearing on Kelly's breach will be heard before this weekend's round at Symmons Plains.

Re: HRT Wiregate

Honestly, these "officials" are being inconsistant, he should have copped the crap Ambrose did. Im 110% behind the Ford officials. And I will be giving it to the holden guys.

Re: HRT Wiregate

A further update, the SMH names the ECU as the culprit under investigation. If this is true, this is far more serious than a loose wire as the ECU has control of engine management. Car 22 was the car Skaife campaigned as No.2 this season until Indy.
