Ferrari came 1-2 in the Austrian GP but the thing that pissed me right off was that Ferrari told Barrichello to let Schumacher passed just before the chequered flag after Barrichello lead for the whole race.
I'm Italian and that's why i follow Ferrari but after this move by Ferrari i have lost respect for them .

Thanks for giving the race result away to me when it was only 1/2 over on the CH9 telecast as if the topic didn't give it away, I didn't even open the thread!. Really appreciate it mate    :fa: :fa: :noNO:
Anyway I agree that rubens should not have had to move over for michael, and I wonder if he might think twice about that 2 year contract extension because of it :crazy1: :thdn:
F1 has lost the plot in this regard, and many others. Ferrari have done this to Ruben's before.. I heard that even M. Shumacher wasn't happy about the decision, but he's got the 10 points!:crazy1:
It's been part of F1 for years, and will be for a long time.
AJ and Boofhead were discussing the fact that Juan Fangio would swap into another drivers car if his was having problems. However, AJ did say that their were drivers who flatly refused to give way to him.
You'd have to be a happy Italian after last night though, Ferrari 1-2, and Ducati's win at the super bikes (onya Bayliss!)
look ! i understand how you feel about ferrari doin this cause i,m italian aswell !! , but at the end of the day its about the team winning the championship , and shumacher has already won 5 out of the last 6 so it seems silly to let maximum points go to barrichelo. He will have his chance later in the season.I put this question to you ! wot if something happened to shumacher later in the year and those very points that he needed to win the championship from williams were those same points he let barrichelo take for first place in Austria ??? would you be happy with Ferrari then ? remember it is a "TEAM SPORT".
If it were Williams or McLaren doing this, the FIA would be all over thier backs and introduce new rules to outlaw this, but because its Ferrari, the biased pricks at the FIA are gonna do squat all!!
Coultard did the same thing for Hakkinen in Mclaren but stuff all was said about it! the FACT is that noone even came close to the ferrari in Austria!!! they should all go home and try to build better cars that can beat the STALLION'S rather than try to steal back points in protest from a team that absolutely shit allover the competition...

After Schuy gave Rubens the winners trophy, the winners podium position, and the winners seat at the conference - i wonder if he'll give him the winenrs cheque too. Rubens misses out on points and his name in the books, but deep down Rubens knows he won that race.
Ferrari could well have changed positions by being sneaky, and messing with pitstops - but they chose to make it obvious, being respectful in a way to Rubens even if he had to follow orders.
Like the V8 Supercars it tends to be RED cars winning all the time!
Didn't the same situation occur in V8s a while back (last year?) and Skaife was let through for the win and his teamate was told to slow down? What about the "classic" 1-2 finish of Alan Moffat and Colin Bond back in 1977? If that was any more staged they would have had Pavorotti driving the car!:s6: It's just part of the politics of racing.
Interesting race strategy was being played out under the safetycar at the time when he posted this thread so, I believe that at the time the race still could have gone either way.
Yeah, obviously Ferrari internal is to blame, still like you said, Schumacher probably should have over-ruled the team and allowed Barrichello to take his second win..
I mean, somehow I don't think Ferrari would terminate MS's contract for disobeying team orders..

No YOU are the one who's wrong. A lot was said about McLaren in 98, and the FIA intervened later that year to say that this kind of behavior was only acceptable if there was a championship at stake. Schumacher had a 21 pt lead going into yesterday and would have extended the lead anyway by finishing 2nd, so there wasn't any good reason to ask Rubens to move over. The FIA are a lot like CAMS.....consistently inconsistent. The fact that Ferrari have the best car is irrelavent in this matter. Its about morality in the sport and Ferrari may have just damaged it permanently. If you don't believe me, read what the man James Allen has to say himself.

think about it like this ! Rubens done a completely unselfish act in the best interest of his team and teamate Micheal , thus further extending Ferrari's chances of wining the constructors championship aswell .True tifosi understand this its the other team supporters who kicked up a big stink! ( BUILD A BETTER F1 TEAM to compete with ferrari and stop whinging).Wot RB did was truely a gentlemenly thing to do .
All the people who whinge about all of this should break it down and analyze the finer points .Wot most idiots are saying is that RB should have bitten the bullet ,stuffed ferrari and stuffed Schumi for the sake of possibly his last win of the season !!!!
In plain English, that means Rubens will not win a GP while the championship is not yet won decisively, and that is not good for fans of racing, rather than fans of the business.
When people remember Schuy's Fangio-equally championship victory, people will remember the Austraian GP, and not the victories he earned himself. Some will consider it a hollow title victory because of it, despite the fact that the logic of the situation does make sense from a team perspective.
That was bloddy Bullshit man. It's not good for the sport. I know Ferrari want to win and will do whatever is in the rules to win, but they really remind me of HRT, arrogant and RED.

What are you doing on the computer if you were watching the F1? People like me can't stay up till 1pm when they have to start work at 8, I think it's good he posted the topic.
*hand DK a tissue*
ermm i was on the puter in an add break cos it is just across the bedroom from the TV and i was still talking on mirc & using the forums. The results normally get posted 1/2way through the race, i am ok with that, but the topic giving away the result doesn't usually happen either...
This is what David (Legohead) Coulthard thought of the matter and i think that it's the first time that he has defended Ferrari's tactics.
The public has to understand that F1™ is a bit like the Tour de France, where there is a team leader and all the other guys are there to help him. He is Miguel Indurain, not the great champion people thought he was because he had ten people there to help him.
"Would (David) Beckham be able to win a football match without ten other guys on the pitch? Of course not.
"A driver can only win a championship with a team's support. A lot of teams put more importance on the constructors' championship rather than the drivers'. But the driver is the name that will also be remembered, it will always be a footnote what the car was.
