Headed off to the Brisbane Motor Show today and left there somewhat dissapointed, not with what I'd seen, but with what I'd been told. Was speaking with a few V8 Teams and one particular person passed on some info that was a very strong rumor, apparantly. This being Russell Ingall to partner Craig Lowndes next year in the Forbes Factory Ford Team.
Speaking of a Factory Ford Team, Gibson Motorsport's (Forbes) Lowndes Falcon had taken pride of place away from the other V8 Supercar mock-ups and in with the Ford display, which tends to indicate that this is more than likely the official Factory Team.
Mark Larkham said he will announce next week who will be his co-driver for the Enduro's. He would not let the cat out of the bag until it was all signed and sealed.
Supercheap Racing said Luke Youlden will team up with Steve Ellery this year for the Enduro's and will have a full time drive with the second car next year. Their new 2002 paint scheme is very similar to the one that adornes the display car at the show
Originally posted by RATT Sounds very interesting. But I have to say that I have never been a fan of Ingall
Why not?
He's one of my favourite drivers and i have alot of respect for him as a driver and as a person.
Apart from Lowndes, he has the best personality in pitlane.
Would they be reffering to the paint job? I love that paint job as the falcon bird is like the holden Lion on the HRT cars. I only think the offical ford factory team should be blue and sliver not black and silver, even though the black probably looks nicer.
I have never been a fan of ingal, some how I dont trust him. I don't know why, maybe it's becasue he was born in the UK? Anyway he's sead some pretty nasty things about ford, so it's rally anyones guess.

and i reckon its bad enough that at the moment the ford factory team if it is to be caled that consists of 3 holden drivers in lowndes crompton and forbes and then if they go and get ingall another holden driver for the factory team i will be bloody pissed off
i just hope it doesn't happen
what is wrong with the drivers ford already had? if ford was serious the factory team could have been seton and bowe from the beginning and if they wanted a younger guy what is wrong with ellery? now they wanna put ingall into the team with lowndes when they could put in someone like ambrose
I also read in an ancient thread that Ingall claimed his favourite car was a Ford Thunderbird. I reckon there ain't much loyalty to one brand or another amongst racing car drivers; they're just happy to have a gig. I mean Brocky drove a Sierra for crying out loud. And Bowe was a Holden fan in his youth.
