How many eventually walked away from the Indycars today?
I know it was rain inturrupted 'n all, but extremely dissapointing that professional racing seems to be a thing of the past in this category.
Ths V8 guys gave a much better showing - very professional, very entertaining.
These indycar drivers (I use the term loosly) have obviously got all their brains in their dicks.
Should be ashamed to accept payment for a race like that.
Only two categorys of motor sport that have gone down hill this year, Indycars & Superbikes. And superbikes will get better - indycars, who knows??

That's my opinion anyway, what do you reckon??
It didn't exactly keep me spell-bound. At least it was a chance to get some work done.
Our V8 Supercars put on a much better show despite the pace cars, 40 pit lane speed, OHS / liability based rules.
Cart should take a look at Nascar they are putting on a show and pulling crowds.
I was mainly looking at it from the driver viewpoint.
Noy thinking rules or any other issues, I just reckon the indycar drivers are mostly lousy.
The V8 drivers now seem to have learnt that to win a race you have to finish it.
All right, they had a dry race, but so did the indycars in the beginning.
And how many crashed out on the first lap??
How many unassisted??
Think about who won the championship, Paul Tracy of all people.
Everyone knows what a dickhead he is, always running into others (& managing to blame everyone except himself).
Shows how poor the series is when he is the best driver?? Don't you think??

Watching Vassa in the AU was a highlight for me!
Sure there seemed to be some plain dumb driving in the indy. How much of that to be blamed on the driver and how much on team stratagies could open another debate.
Not many of the world superstars have made a show when they have driven in our V8's. But then there aren't too many Aussies able to race in their formulas.
Dumb racing sure, but the formula may well demand that, they race lots more meetings for bigger swags of cash, maybe it works for them.
was that a race (the indy cars) i thought it was a 5 lap dash with lunch/ad breaks between races, cause thats what it looked like from here, eventually they done hardly any fast laps only about half of em (laps) were at speed the rest were in the pits..
i watched the carnage then ignored it till the next accident, computer was more interesting today..

cars are a lethal weapon, your not invinsible when you get into one,and no matter how much skill you think you have, you are never in control you are always on the edge of death it may not happen today but if you keep driving like you do,you too will end up dead!
The crash after crash just annoyed me... sure a crashes are entertaining just not after practically every restart!!! I was at the track but left before the champ cars... i couldnt be bothered standing for another 3 hours when i noticed the dark clouds! Glad i got out of there.. i would of been cold, tired and bored!

Manual... the only way to drive!!
I think it is a mistake having the V8 Supercars at Indy...the drivers of the Indy cars seem to think their cars are indestructible, so they decide to out muscle the guy next to them (a la V8 Supercars) but then realise they have lost their front suspension...they need to settle down I think.
I actually enjoyed the race..who doen't love seeing crashes?
