Here's the
PR spin;
"Caltex Havoline Racing’s Russell Ingall has made a strong start to his career with Ford, setting the fourth fastest time in today’s qualifying session for the V8 support event at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix at Albert Park.
Mark Skaife set the fastest time ahead of Jason Bright and Todd Kelly.
It was a day of firsts with 11 Ford drivers debuting the BA model Falcon at the non-championship event.
“I am certainly very pleased to be in the top four, although a little higher would have been nice,” said Ingall.
“We had only done three hours of practice in this car before today and the qualifying session was the first time we had run it with new rubber.
“We probably went a little too early with our second set of tyres because the track obviously got better and better as the session wore on.
“I had a couple of minor offs - I guess you could say I was doing a bit of exploring.
“I am looking forward to getting amongst it tomorrow and hopefully having the Caltex Havoline Ford on the podium and set up our weekend.”
Despite some minor mechanical dramas, Craig Lowndes (Ford Performance Racing) jumped to seventh place late in the qualifying session, with OzEmail Racing’s John Bowe set to start ninth and another Ford new-boy Jason Bargwanna (Orrcon Steel Racing) in 10th."
Such a beautiful car...I'd never noticed the pirtek logo on the havoline car before until today...
