It is funny - and the raw results don't show just how dominant Owen Kelly has been at this round.
It is a complete reversal of the fortunes the two marques had when they were competing in the main game and something of a puzzle. Certainly there are more Fords in the field than Holdens but none of those Holdens ever looked really competitive.

it is quite strange how the two have reversed the trend from the level 1 category, not that im complaining - might even try get along to a round or two this year and cheer the boys on

hopefully this also means that we will have some well groomed ford drivers ready to step up at the end of the year!

*cough+ parity adjustment last year *cough* thats why they're running better now...they got the parity adjustment that the AU should have got back in 2001 or so...

i think the parity adjustment recieved by the AU last year (an extended front splitter) only applied to vehicles in the main game, not the cars running in the konika series

Yep, you're right Donut King there are no front splitter extentions on the AU Konica cars



I think one of the reasons the AU's are doing well because of the number of level one Ford teams that sell off their old cars. Whereas the on the Holden front you have this hand-me-down setup within HRT/KRT/PWR and now Larry has a similar setup with 4 cars under his umbrella. Which of course means there are very few level 1 Holdens filtering down to the Konica ranks

The DJR cars are apparently running latest development engines in their Konica cars, and word is that Owen Kelly's engine lunched itself as it crossed the line in the Saturday race

You will also find that the one's that are winning in the Konica's are the one's that are owned or funded from the Level 1 team's (ie DJR) because the resources and money is just to powerfull compared to those in the Konica series that are self funded team's, really how are they going to go head to head with the like's of DJR.
