Is it just me that think's Lowndes isn't trying as hard as he use to?. When he was driving the green eyed monster. He was awesome to watch,He was agressive. I can't remember the last time he smacked someone out of the way. He just seem's to be taking it easy. Considering all the publisity he gets. I would think he would finnish in the top 10 more often.

I think it's the car more than him. For some reason FPR just don't have the pace of the front runners... I can't remember the last time that a factory Ford team really got up there
The Engines are just not up to the pace. All of Glenn's previous engine development from last year has been ignored and neither Glenn nor Craig have any input into the developement of the engines. Neither expect to do well this year.
Thats a bit harsh, last year it was there first year and had a really crap workshop they where just getting started. This year should be better. I think you sould save your opinion on whether Lowndes is performing or not at the end of this year.
here is a contest - name me 27 other drivers who wish they finished where Craig did in last years championship?
you guys that have said he has lost it are just showing ignorance...
Or maybe the competition has become very close in the recent yr's, yes Craig did drive very well in his HRT day's but the comptition has grown since then, alot of the team's are on the ball now, just look at the time's in qualifying now, once they were seperated by sec's now it's 1hundred's of a sec or tighter.
Lowndsey will come good as they find more speed in the car.
I think Ford totally mis-managed his placement with race teams after signing him. It's almost as if Ford weren't expecting to get him then when it did happen it was a case of "shit, we got him. Where do we put him?". The Gibson/Forbes/00 setup was a house of cards. Meantime the FTR "Ford works team" smoke and mirrors farce was going on with Seto.
The current FPV setup should have happened right from day 1. By now Lowndsey and Seto would be up there with Marcos. With FPV's infrastructure only just in place now and the lack of off-season testing I get the feeling they have already written off the Championship and are aiming for Bathurst.
I still have high hopes for FPV, Lowndesy and Seto. Remember Ferrari were a complete basket case when Michael Schumacher joined them, the world championship took 4 seasons to achieve.

Seeing Lowndsey at Albert Park was dissapointing because he was so far off the pace. I do hope that FPV improve over the year and Craig and Glenn are up there among Ambrose as Ford's leading men.
Four years of 'be patient' is wearing a bit thin......
I think Ford should grit it's teeth, admit it screwed up with the whole Gibson/00/FPR thing, and convince SBR to run a 3 car team with Lowndes, Ambrose and Ingall. Maybe that'll keep the kid happy in 2005, cause the last thing we need is for him to be snapped back up by Holden, thrown into one of the top teams and win the championship straight away.....
apparently they learnt a lot at melb. they tried afew setups, took some notes and are ready for adelaide. Well thats what lowndesy said. hope he's right..
jeez it's a tough school in here with you lot.
ok - they had a very tough GP weekend, everyone seems to be of the opinion that they were basically out for a test run, and the common concensus is that they sucked.
well, going by some race stats I would say the GP weekend was encouraging, though I would like a little bit more thanks.
I rate HRT as the fastest cars on the track. I say this because right from practice 1, on any track, they are at the front, so for me they are still the benchmark for optimal performance across the weekend. Having said that, lets look at Craigs race pace for the GP compared to HRT(remember CL did all his laps in traffic)
race 1 - quicker fastest lap than Todd Kelly
race 2 - 0.3 off Skaifes quickest lap
race 3 - 0.2 off Todd Kelly, and was able to pass and keep him behind him
0.3 in qualifying is a concern, but in race trim that is nothing - if they are producing times like that and they were only 'trying stuff', wait until they put it all together for the first round. Never ever write of someone like CL....
