I was reading the Flat Chat section of AutoAction and someone sent in a letter about what he heard at the Canberra 400.

He was telling us that he overheard Howard Marsden talking to some Ford team owners, namely Bob Forbes ( 00 Motorsport ). Apparently, Howard was discussing some type of team for next year involving Russell Ingall, Craig Lowndes and Marcos Ambrose. This team is supposed to be 100 percent factory backed by Ford. If it was a 20-year-old marshall telling us this, we would have ignored it, but as i mentioned, he looked around 50 so we believed him. This is something die-hard Ford fans should keep their eye on.

I think GLENN SETON should be involved in the team! Having two ex-Holden drivers in the main FORD team is a slap in the face to the loyal hard working FORD blokes like GLENN SETON.

Hopefully Prodrive don't base their decision on SETON's last two seasons, but look to his consistency of 2000 and his qualifying of 2001.

I think FORD owe GLENN SETON a lot!

The new rules say that each franchise can only run two cars next year, so in order for this rumour to actually go ahead, 00/Prodrive would have to buy another franchise...GSR is the obvious answer i think...

Seton/Lowndes/Ambrose/Ingall...

Agreed, if it were to happen, Glenn Seton should get a seat instead of Russel Ingall, or maybe even John Bowe.

Bowe can really drive, he just needs the team i believe.

However, Larry Perkins Castrol Racing Team runs three cars and thats a big ask, big trouble, uneven funding, uneven time spent on cars etc, Russell Ingall said so himself last week at Oran Park - its tough shit trying to run a 3 car team all year around...
