After watchin the last round of CART, i hear Bill Woods and Neil havin a yarn about Honda and Toyota not being able (wanting) to produce CART engines next year to the future specs (naturally aspirated 3.5L) so consequently only Ford-Cosworth will be (able to) producing them. This was because of the other two companies' focus on F1, not having cash shouldn't be too much of a concern for these companies, especially Toyota who have more cash reserves than GM or FoMoCo. Honda is also in a fairly safe position on the cash front. Thoughts anyone???? I think that this would make things awfully boring for the fans having only 1 engine manufacturer. With Merc leaving last year, that's all CART would need now. The merge with IRL would be needed by the fans more than ever, just to get some factory support for the series'. Added bonus of this too is that it will become Ford vs GM (oldsmobile/buick).
