New driver for BRute's
Acclaimed country singer Adam Brand is taking his love for Ford utes to a new level – by joining the starting grid for this year's V8 BRutes race series.
A self-confessed Ford ute devotee – his 'everyday' car is a 7.3-litre turbocharged V8 F250 – Adam jumped at the chance to join in what is fast becoming one of the country's most popular racing formulas.
"I've always loved Ford utes and the Falcon XR8 is a gem of a car to drive so the chance to drive one flat out round the best racetracks in the country is a dream come true," he said.
The V8 BRutes proved an instant hit in their debut at the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar meeting in Adelaide last year.
They went on to garnish more support at PROCAR Champ Series meetings, culminating in organisers of the Bathurst 1000 inviting them to the famous Mt Panorama circuit for the biggest weekend of racing on the Australian calendar.
Adam will take ownership of his Ford V8 BRute on the steps of the Tamworth Chamber of Commerce on Saturday morning at the conclusion of this year's Tamworth Country Music Festival cavalcade of stars.
The keys to Adam's Ford V8 BRute will be handed over by Ford 4WD and Light Commercial Vehicle Marketing Manager, Kevin Lillie.
"As the designers of the first ever ute, Ford Australia is proud to be part of the V8 BRutes series. And we are delighted a talent such as Adam Brand has chosen to start his racing career in a Ford XR8 BRute," Mr Lillie said.
