An open letter to Ford Australia and the Ford V8 Supercar teams.
I am writing this letter out of frustration with the abysmal efforts of the Falcon V8 Supercar teams. In particular the Ford sponsered teams Gibson Motorsport and Ford Credit Racing Team and Ford Australia itself.
I am not alone when I say how dissapointed I am once again after watching the latest V8 Supercar round from Canberra. You people collectively carry the flag for Ford fans like me and I am sick of making excuses for you when I cop a ribbing from friends and aquaintences about the latest loss at the track.
It is not a matter of throwing more money at it as you have great drivers and a great product to work with. It appears to be a management and engineering problem......even I can see that!
I dont expect you to answer my letter but I do expect you to get off your asses and solve this problem otherwise people like me will no longer support V8 Supercar racing and it will become Commadore racing (Boring). I am not asking you guys to win every race but this season has been pathetic, you have to agree.
I am reverting back to my old excuse for the losses: "Ford only made decent cars before 1973". I dont really beleive this but thats what I will be saying.
I share your frustration Trigger351, as was contemplating making a similar post this morning.
Like you I'm frustrated to the point where I'm very rapidly approaching if not already at the limit of what I can take.
I personally cannot see Ford getting a single round victory this season, and if the best we can hope for is a podium finish then how can we get excited. This really is a disgrace!!
Now I'm not the sort of person to chuck the towel in when the going gets too tough, but how many rounds (if not seasons) do we have to wait...
Now I know how my brother feels being a Fremantle Dockers supporter. He's totally loyal to his team, is continuously disappoined, questions his loyalty regularly, and continuously cops a ribbing and has to make excuses.
Is Ford the V8 Supercar equivalent of the Fremantle Dockers?

Actually mate, pay a little more attention to the AFL this year and you will notice that Freo have recruited very well (like ford with Lowndes but still can't get many good results) and now have won every game so far this year at home.
Take Carlton this year. They are one of the most sucessful and dominant teams in the AFL. I am so sick to death of makiong excuses why ford can nenevr win, but I just hope BARRA will turn the tide. Like Carlton, I only hope Holden will go that way.

Well i had to sit and watch 2 hours of commodore racing again yesterday and see Skaife win another race.
WTF is going on at Ford motorsport. Surely the AU isn't that much of a dud racecar. It is true that Engineering is the problem but poor pitstops and inexperience on the part of Ambrose really stuffed up the whole weekend
Thank goodness Nascar's were on again this weekend so i could see some racing were you don't know who is going to win the race until the last few laps
The points system of V8 supercars must be looked at.
I suggest following the Nascar style with not much difference in points from 1st to 15th. Winner gets 170, then 5 points for every position lower and 5 points for leading a lap could be introduced
The situation will not change at Barbagallo either in 2 weeks because HRT have done extremely well there too and will probably fill the first 3 grids.
It's almost time for Ford to wave the white flag and give up on this one sided and predictable series.
I didn't get to see the sunday race/s, but the race on saturday wasn't too bad IMO. It was great to see that Bignose didn't get pole, and when lowndsy went back to 15th or so he started to make it up but the HRT car of Bright could make it up. Ambrose was fantastic!! From 15th on the grid to 4th in only 25 laps!!
So who's the winner? Skaife who made up 5 places, or Ambrose who made up 11, after smashing up the car?
Another round.. another load of whingeing. It's getting a bit tiresome lads don't you think?
Sure, I'm as frustrated as the rest of you guys at the "performance" of Ford Racing Teams but FFS can we deal with it like grown people & not like kids.
