This may be the stupidest topic but has any one noticed how the LMS/Orrcon cars are the only cars left with either GT Stripes or the Super Roo logo?

Apart from FPR putting the GT badges on thats the only references to years gone by.

Just something I noticed.

I thought that the stripes where over the top not along the side, making them not GT stripes

Also, aren't the cars based on an xr8 platform vs the gt?? Even though i guess they would be pretty identical....the chassis that is..

Yea, I'm pretty sure they are based on XR8's, I remember back in the AU days ford also had ford xr8 banners around that track and stuff. I suppose confusion could be cause of Bathurst last year when FPR FPV car was branded GT instead and they put GT badges on the back of all the cars..

I dont think they are based on anything in particular, just a standard Falcon bodyshell, the rest is just marketing

With the AU, Ford and the teams refered to them as XR8's, along with the cars being badged as such.

Dunno what the story is with the BA's, FPR have the GT badging but the other teams just have a lone Falcon badge on the rear

I've attached a picture which I hope will help See above the Super Roo Emblem is the Stripe like on the old Phase 3 or at least the beginning of it.

And yes I did mean there was stripes accross the top and the phase 3 thingy on the side (im sure its got a name)

Looks cool I reckon, more like a XW GT/GTHO stripe to me though

I think Larko has an XW, he is in an ad for an insurance company with a green one in the background. He also is restoring an XA GT Coupe

Thats cus Mark Larkham is an old car enthusiast. The whole idea of the stripes is to resemble the old GT falcon race cars. He's currently rebuilding a old GT car, not sure what year it is. There was an article on it in one of the aussie muscle car mags.

The Orrcon cars would have to be one of the best looking on the track at the moment.

Didn't realise they had the SuperRoo logo on 'em but! That's simply Ace!!
