"TC opened his address to the launch of the V8 season this morning by assuring everyone that China really will happen ... then spent the next 5 minutes creating an escape for himself and AVESCO to announce at Eastern Creek that it won't go ahead.
He talked about the difficulties, and that "if" it can't be brought to fruition this year we'll definitely get it for next year ..."
Sweet, who cares about v8's in china. Forget the idea an first get a round in every australian state an NZ.

... and absolutely no loss.
Until the (so called) heartland is looked after rather than Tony Cockroach and his Sydney based chardonnay sipping, latte crowd then the whole overseas thing is a complete crock.
Mind you I'd have loved to see the little termite backpeddaling!
I'd rather the V8's go to China than Auckland, you have a round, give someone else a go, An Auckland street race will benefit Auckland and thats it no one else, just like the America's Cup, maybe if u do get a street race then the money you get from it could go towards the roads only Aucklanders use but the whole country has to pay for it
A race in the South Island or Taupo is a much better idea, and Wellington, but i dont think it will happen in Wellington in a hurry
What a good move. Why the hell go to China, doesnt interest me in watching it just because it's in china....arent V8's too big for their liking anyway? (and no pshh sounds)
As long as they fix up safety issues associated with PI, it's one of the best racing and viewing tracks in the country. Wonder if it has anything to do with Lindsay Fox buying it

yeah but keep in mind the costs involved to get each team overseas, some teams are struggling to make ends meet... a race in China is a waste of time and a hell of a lot of money. Good riddance I say...
