What restrictions are there on drivers/cars/etc?

Also how much does it cost roughly? The first questions are more important though :)

I heard it takes at least $1 million per year to fund a race team.But as you said,it takes heaps!

You need a car franchise to enter, which means you need to buy one from someone who wants to sell. Cars are very restricted, basically must be Falcon or Commodore, 5L engine, 10:1 compression, 7500rpm rev limit, 1350kg minimum weight, heaps of components have minimum weights to eliminate costly materials, etc, etc. How's that for a start?

The GRM commodore has a 13:1 compression ratio, and the minnimum weight includes the driver

Yeah,I read an interview that Steve Johnson did last year {I think} in Motorsport News and he said that he had to watch his weight very carefully because of the weight limits.

Yes! Can't even be VT Commy or AU Falcon any more

Only cars eligable are BA and VY/VZ. Having said that though, the racecars are so different from their road going cousins the only thing they have in common is the ford or holden sticker. The development series allows VX and AU models aswell as BA and VY.
