Question SBR Pit Strategies

The team to beat both on and off the track this year has by far been SBR with lightning pit stops that kill the opposition as seen at Indy a couple of weeks ago and right throughout the season.

But this weekend me and my mates were absolutley lost when both SBR cars did a 2-stopper in race 2 - We all understood Ingall's second stop as there had been a flatspoted front, but Ambrose was in 8th or there abouts, and in prime position to make the best of a bad situation. Then the safetycar comes out and #4 comes comes in. Nothing wrong with the car what-so-ever and was showing great pace. The field was bunched up and Ambrose could have VERY easily moved into 7th and upwards, but instead he went a lap down on everyone and was in 24th. I'm still bewildered as to why none of the commentry team did not go into detail on this, and SBR were thinking, I alsoremember the comentry team mentioning that they did no roll-centre adjustment too while in the pits for thier second stop while under safteycar.

Anyone know something I don't?!

You sure?, we all heard it was Ingall which explained only the front tyres replaced and Ambrose had all four changed, and he also set the fastest times just before his 2nd pit.
Mind you I've had one of those weekends where everything I've been wrong about, I should've not have gotten out of bed Saturday morning 'till tomorow morning!

Re: SBR Pit Strategies

ambrose had the flat spot, ingall had the touch up by jones, ambrose had to come in as his tyre was going flat thanx to a late breaking and he deflated it he even said so after the race..

pit stops today by SBR weren't up to scratch i guess they ran over a black cat on the way there.or a kiwi.LOL

cars are a lethal weapon, your not invinsible when you get into one,and no matter how much skill you think you have, you are never in control you are always on the edge of death it may not happen today but if you keep driving like you do,you too will end up dead!

Wasn't Ingalls complaint a vibration in the front?

Re: SBR Pit Strategies

Ambrose came in after flat spotting his front when he got the hairpin while the oil was on the track from Johnsons blown engine... that oil caught a few people out, Ambrose was definitely looking good prior to that.
