Remember the bad old days and those "I'm a control freak" ads?
I use to throw my hands up in disgust and say to the T.V. "You guys have the most marketable man in the series driving for you, and you use Mark Skaife!! for your commercials."
So you can imagine my delight at the new XR8 ads, Ford using their two 'top guns' to sell their product is a good move.
Good for Ford and good for the series.

They were playing ads during the race, advertising the series 3 XR8. Lowndes driving and grining alot and Ambrose as a passenger pointing out all the inclusions

No offence but the add was abit ... um.. boring dont u think??
They got the right idea bout the drivers but nothing really happened??

Everyone i speak to LOVES the Holden Ute commercial doin a burnout on the dirt with Thunder playin in the background.

We need OOMPH in the adds. eg.. like the ones in the early 70's ...More MORE MUSTANG!!!! Just my 5c thats all.

When I have said Windsor V8 noise, I forgot to mention that there should be absolutely no other noise at all. The XR8 ad in the speed ring with the test driver that can't talk actually has V8 noise but it is virtually inaudible with the music playing too.

Music isn't going to sell a car (hell, maybe it works for Mitsi though) but a V8 will sell an XR8.

I talk about this way too much! I just hope someone in Ford has the same ideas about marketing the XR8 as us here on FF do.

They should have an add with some dude revving a stroked winsor to 5 grand and then saying "you should hear when we drop the clutch" or something like that. That would be intersting. Come one guys i cant do any worse than anyone else.

Saw the SR ad for the first time yesterday, and gotta say, it was a bit of a yawn ... Why are they using Lowndes + Ambrose to promote a parts bin special? Why not the whole range?
