biggrin Something strange at QR

I was just reading through the race 2 results for the aussie racing cars and stumbled apon this....

DNF | 21 | JFR/Holden Young Lions | John Faulkner (NSW) | Falcon

In case you can't interpret that, you have John Faulkner who is 50 something, driving for Holden Young Lions in an Aussie racing cars Ford Falcon..

Re: Something strange at QR

Had an answer here - but it was for V8 supercars, not aussie race cars.

Next time I'll read all of the words in the post!

Re: Something strange at QR

I think the point that James was making here is that JF is 50 driving for the Holden YOUNG Lions, wasn't this venture started to give young blokes a chance to race????

The 2nd Aussie Racing Cars race was awesome. The lead changed about 20 times!

That was 1 of 2 points. 'Holden Young Lions' is the team name, it's not a sponsor as such so I'm puzzled as to why he would enter himself in firstly, a holden sponsored Falcon, and secondly as a Holden Young Lion..

Re: Something strange at QR

The short answer is that JF was curious about joining the series, and the organisers arranged for John to take the SuperCheap Falcon for a race weekend to decide if it was a class he wanted to enter.

I know JF was very enthusiastic about the car and is likely to be buying one at some point, presumably a Holden FJ body - there are no Commodore shells in the field yet
