Remember that some of the cars are "nobbled" and others are "helped" to even out the field and improve the show. This isn't exactly like comparing stock road cars against each other.
You can't actually say the GTS is stock either. GTP is a parity series. It has been designed that way to make racing close, and therefore exciting and interesting to watch. Some of the mod's applied to all competing vehicles are for reliability, as well as safety.
In the real world, yeah a GTS should have the measure of a T3. No one would deny that. But in racing the first over the line is usually the winner and that can be a result of any number of factors which include driver ability, superior engineering, choice of strategy, reliability of equipment, and in some other cases plain luck.
In the case of the T3, all of the above are applicable for the result in race one. The luck component was on our side when the GTS developed a major problem and DNF'd as a result. The T3 was going to win anyway, but with the GTS out of the picture it made the job a little bit easier.
But i still like to think my RS2000 is a drag car! Sure i am a little crazy.
