Team Yamaha is heading to Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 meeting this coming weekend to complete unfinished business. Following the rather unfortunate race debut at this meeting last year which saw the brand new TE50 rollover, team owner/driver Trevor Haines is keen to put last year behind him and put the FPV TE50 into the top three for a podium finish.
"We finished the 2002 season with a fantastic 9th in the Bathurst 24 Hour race hot on the heals of a top 5 finish at Indy. I cannot wait to put the TE50 through its paces at Adelaide and complete some seriously unfinished business. I invite all Ford fans to get behind the team this weekend and follow our progress."
The Dark Side will have six VYs there amongst a 32 car strong field including EVO VIIs, STi 01s, Nissan 200SXs and an M3 BMW Coupe.
2003 will be a big year for Team Yamaha with plans for a new FPV GT well underway. A new website is under construction which will incorporate a new supporters area for those Ford fans who wish to get behing the team. More news on this soon.
So folks, standby for an exciting 2003 GT Performance season.

Thanks to all the supporters Team Yamaha has here on the forum. Its been a busy week since Clipsal and I have only just read all the postings. Hey I love the photo someone posted, thanks for doing that. I must learn how to put images up on the Forum.
We had a mixed weekend. The car ran very well, I drove it as hard as I could, but alas we were a bit short of speed. Main reasons were we had 60Kg added to our minimum weight by Procars since season 2002 which translated into 40Kg additional running weight, we chose to run the Bathurst engine after a checkup and consequently gave up a small horsepower amount versus the second engine we have. The EVOs scored a 0.1 bar boost increase for Christmas and could lighten there cars through interior trim removal. So all in all, it was always going to be an uphill battle compared to our last sprint performance at Indy where we ran 5th.
We are working on our website this weekend and hope to have it on air by Sunday evening. Check it out at www.ontrack-racing.com.au. A posting to the Forum will accompany the website update. It will include a race report, some great photos and a place for folks to register their interest in a supporters club, so jump on it and give us your thoughts.
Always will to answer questions too, so feel free to ask us about our activities. More news on the GT project shortly.
