Just wondering for the 2004 V8 Brute utes are the Ford driver allowed to use full spec BA XR8 Utes . Just asking as the Ford drivers were not allowed to run the BA utes this year as Holden were allowed to run real VY SS utes.
From my understanding the Brutes Series will use the new 5.4 next year - however they will use the 220 engine out of the XL and not the Boss engine as the XL ute is the standard for the series and it's a bit pointless to have to buy an XR8 and rip off all the XR bits.
They will all be retuned for parity with the new engines which I suspect is already underway.
It doesn't matter this year that the Holden is a VY as it's only cosmetic whereas the Ford included a new engine as well.
In stock form the GenIII has more power, yes, but the cars engines are adjusted to provide parity between the two meaning that neither car has any real power advantage over the other
I think they were both tuned to 240kW or so. Given they use XR/SS utes (and there was a rumour a while ago that next year it would be Pursuit/Maloos) it would be a surprise if they went back to XL utes. It would make sense though… Heap cheaper to buy and they replace all the bits that are different anyway.
BA XR8 Vs. VY2 SS is fair isn't it? - Sure theres a slight power difference but then theres the completley different suspension (rear)... I recon change nothing but add a roll cage? - Or am I being stupid??
