I know we have discussed the penalty situation a million times but I can't help but be impressed(I didn't agree with the penalty)with the way the Rossi penalty was handled today. 10 seconds, during the race, team told, commentators and viewers understood, rider told and the race unfolded. A winner would have been declared after the race which ever way it went. Bloody good in my books. Maybe TEGA could look at this instead of race losing Stop Goes. What d'all think

was this an after the race penalty? if so sorry i like all penalties dealt with in the race so at the chequered flag we know who won and not have to wait a week.

It was awarded during the race - with about 14laps to go.

Rossi was leading by about 3sec at the time. He then tried a little harder and had the margin up to 15sec by the end of the race to win by 5 sec after the penalty was added.

Rossi said it took him a couple laps to figure out what was going on as his pit board went from P1 +3sec to P8 -8sec in the space of a lap.

Depends on the reason for the penalty like skaifes black flag for the door coming open how do you give something like that a time as SBR might be able to fix it faster than HRT
so by setting a time it would take to fix it you might be penalise teams that can do it faster than the time or give other teams a advantage

In relation to Skaife's door it would be irrelevant. It's a safety issue and there's no way to fix it other than going into the pits.

Actually I don't agrre with the way the penalty was enforced, My personal opinion is that the offender come in the pits and serve the penalty.

Think about it this way, if Rossi would have come in he would have been in longer than 10s, he would also not be leading when he came back on the track.
He only got done for the 10s, he would also have been done for the time it takes to come in and go out of the pits if he would have to go into the pits to serve his penalty.

i think that it is more exiting if there is a drive threw penalty, cuz they have to work harder threw the tail enders and it is more exiting
