I have heard recently that the Holden teams are eventually all (?) going to get the 'Aurora' engines and everyone seems to think that they are better etc etc.
What I want to know is what is different about them and why are they better or why are the Holdens getting them?
Anyone know ?
The heads look very simular to the Ford SVO "Yates" heads with the position of the inlet and exhuast ports. I have posted something on V8central with photos and a story on the new engine block, heads, Valve angles, engine position, etc. The site is down at the moment and I will post up the URL so you can go and read.
The story came from the Australia mussle car mag No 5.
I was thinking the same thing. Why not throw the Windsor at them.
Those new Chev heads look very simular to the SVO "Yates" Units. Maybe they have been modified to run a Chev Block. That is if indeed it is a chev block.
Maybe someone should try and get a look at these new engines and heads. Maybe where the FoMoCo is stamped an angle grinder has been at work
Forgive me my ingnorance, but it seems that the entire point of Project Blueprint was really to give the Holden boys the few remaining good Ford bits that GM didn't know how to design themselves, thus removing any outstanding deficiencies from the Commode design, making it even more unbeatable.
I've yet to see where Ford got any consessions or advantages from the 'commonality' brought about by PB, and this past weekend is not a reason for us to all rejoice at the sudden demise of HRT.
Unfortunately, I'm a BIG sceptic when it comes to AVESCO and their seeming HRT or the rest policies, and I'm far from convinced this was anything but another smooth Holden manouver to give them more of an edge over Ford, not help even up the battle.
Cheers
Jason

Ford get the same rear pick up points as the Commodore.
This was a major problem last year with the Falcons as they seemed be not getting the same wear with the tyres as well this the less downforce the Falcon was getting on the front.
Remember both teams are sharing a simular aero package now.
IF the BA is the beast on the track and comes out winning, I wonder how long it will be untill we have to endure the threats of legal action and whining from the Lions Pride on how Ford constantly winning will ruin the sport.
6 Years of HRT, not Holden teams in general domination has done nothing but bring out the SHEEP, and treated the real die hard fan like crap.
