What's Going To Happen In GP?

What do you guys think is going to happen at the first corner of the Spain GP between Montoya?
Since Montoya is still complaining about the last race i think he's going to push schu off the track if they both get a good start.

What do you think?

I think they'll do the usual crazy starts, parking in trees etc. Tnen circle endlessly where the only portions of interest is some other herbert or yuan-rico over-revving and detonating. I think I'll wonder yet again why am I sitting up to watch this at 2:00 in the morning a decide bed it the better option. I think I'll hear the result on the 6:00am news and wonder why I bothered.

I think Montoya will storm out of yet another interview like the spoilt brat he is.

And they say V8supercar is boring!! Hell the Aussies guys even whine better when they are punted.

Schuey will get the better start and beat Montoya to the first turn, but Montoya will expect Schuey to let him through, cos he is a dickhead.

Re: What's Going To Happen In GP?

Post qualifying press conference quotes:

Q: Canít help but notice that youíre next to your friend from Imola, Michael, on that long run down to the first corner and itís a tight first corner here too.

JPM: Yeah. Weíll have to wait and see what happens when we get there, donít you think?

Q: Michael, what are your thoughts on that run down to the first corner and Juan Pablo? Does that incident at Imola carry through now?

MS: Not to me. We had an interesting fight at Imola and we will find out whether we have one again tomorrow but itís part of racing, to have a battle, and to have a tight business. Iíve no problems with that, to have another one.

---

I think that BAR's ability to pull off amazing starts might see Sato pass either of the two in front if there is space, its a very long run down to the first corner at Catalunya. You don't get into Formula One by being a bad driver (except for paid drives... so perhaps that statement isn't accurate... try: you don't become Cart series champion by being a bad driver), and due to the length of the road to the first corner, I don't see Montoya and Schumacher being shoulder to shoulder there.

Tim

Yeah I see Micheal several car lenths infront of Montoya at the first corner with Sato in 2nd. Yeah he may have won CART but he's not quite so dominant in F1 where the level rises just a bit. If he wants to prove himself maybe he should win a race instead of complaining about someone trying to take him out. I see Micheal a second a lap better than Juan at the moment and a second is a bloody long time in F1.

Re: What's Going To Happen In GP?

Yeah, I agree that Schumacher will run faster lap times, but I still think Montoya is a good driver, frustrated with a car that that can not take it to the Ferrari attack.

I think to say that Champ Cars are different is a fair call, but clearly Montoya has a handle on Formula One, considering he is out peforming his team mate regularly, and Ralf is not the slowest driver out on the track. So I can't say that he doesn't have a grip on Formula One driving, I disagree with that. I would say, however, that a combination of his cars lack of performance and Ferraris dominance is frustrating him.

I think that Mark Webber is suffering the same thing, while having a whole load of skill, the constant lack of performance and good results is leading to frustration and mistakes creep in.

I look forward to the race tonight - the grid should lead to some good racing.

Cheers... Tim

I agree partly with that, I think the dominance of Ferrari is frustrating him but the performance isn't that far off the Ferrari's. We have seen Montoya go faster than Schumacher this year but not very often. Schumachers reliablity is unbelievable and that would frustrate drivers like Raikonnen who can't seem to get his car right.

The 1 lap rule which was applied to stop Schumachers dominance has instead favored him. He seems to keep it all together for one lap and this gives him an advantage from the front. From then on the main drivers watch as Schumacher gallops into the distance. I think they should have more laps to qualify so the other drivers don't have so much pressure to do the 'perfect lap'

Yes and no, it's just a bit of fun... last time Schumacher frustrated Montoya after they came together and we know Montoya doesn't like to give in to Micheal, if anything both are a possibilty but could create some excitment from what has been a very uninspiring year for the fans
