Will the Av save us??

I fail to see how the AV is going to magically regain the lost ground between ford and holden victories??

How can the AU be so bad?..and if it is then they have had long-a-bloody-nuff to fix it!! Its not like we are getting new engines or drivetrains.

Im I missing something?

Slack..thats all I can say.

A bad work man blames his tools!!..I know to a certain extent the chassis is a huge part but come on..please!

Im just pissed about hearing the race 1 results and qualifing..pfft

The AV may help - although next years similar front suspension setup may help Holdens more seeing as the Ford setup is supposed to be the biz.

You guys will get your results when you set up a TWR type outfit.

They win everything because they have 5 cars and an F1 team behind them providing engineering.

Get ProDrive onboard, set up a primary and secondary team under them, get Geoff to tip a bucket load of cash their way and stand back and watch the the race wins. It's the only way.

The Ford attack has improved this year but still seems splintered - still no Ford racing team, 00 Motorsport I suppose is the Ford team, but call it that.

You still need a flagship team that will counter all the red jackets in the crowd (and aren't there a lot of those!).

Brendan is spot on with respect to Ford's racing effort.

The AU is a good car, it suffered bad press from jurnos that didn't like the front end. The reports about it's brakes were laughable, yes they might fade if you run them flat out on a race track like the jurnos did. There was nothing wrong with them for day to day use. I had an AU for 2 1/2 years that I drove hard and never had a problem.

The AU drove, rode and behaved much better than the Commodore, but the press about it's looks hurt. Maybe it would have been a lot different if the AUII was released first.

If the reports about the AV are correct, it's going to be one hell of a car, but once again, that will go out the window if it is recieved badly by the so called expert press.

yeah but jamie im talking about the Av in race spec...i know the AU isn't a heap of crap for consumers...

brendan i guess you are right...ford does have a main car...Glenn Seton in the Ford Credit...lol, but when you have people like Steve Ellery who hasn't got anything like Glenns backing who seems to gte better results, then it leaves questions...i know 00 gets heaps of help as well

If you take any notice of the recent press interrviews with Crennan he reckons that a huge bucketload of cash is already being poured into 00 Motorsport but they prefer to spend it on coffee makers rather than cars. In a recent interview by Peter Brock, Lowndes admitted his car is only 70%, all credit to him for for going as good as he has.

LOL, I realised that as soon as I posted it!

After owning two AUs, I get tired of defending a car that shouldn't need defending!

I hope we won't be disappointed with the AV on the track. I think that Ford now realises what it has to do.

In really simple terms .... if we don't all want to be driving Holdens or Crown Victorias in 3-4 years time then we'd better bloody HOPE like crazy that the Barra does save Ford Australia's collective rear ends.

But I like the Crown Victoria Russ... NOT!

Imagine the Crown Vic in V8 Supercars. That would be a comedy on wheels..
