Will SBR Take the No. 2 also?

just thinking with Ambrose having the No.1 again for 2005 will SBR also take the No.2 for Ingall as seen as he finished 2nd in championship?

would be funy to see HRT lose their numbers completely and maybe goto a combo of 22 and 222 for their cars.

no...HRT owns number 2, so unless HRT give it up (doubtful) then rusty sticks with 9.

The only number of any significance to the championship finishing position is the #1. The rest (#2 included) are team/franchise owned.

I hear the rumour is that HRT will be requesting #3 for Snozz at the end of the 2005 series to mark the third year he was totally outclassed by Ford & SBR in a championship.

That was just a one off for the last round at Eastern Creek to promote Caltex's premium fuel, which is 98 octane. Ingall's usual number is 9

Re: Will SBR Take the No. 2 also?

The talk is that Rusty might be sponsored by a new Caltex product, if it is something like Vortex 98 for example, he might run a new number. Other than that you are right though, 9 is his number and it is still owned by SBR.

the numbers 1, 01 and 05 are not allowed unless you are the previous years champion or Peter Brock
