Ford’s Europe sales, market share climb
LONDON — Ford Motor Co., the second-biggest U.S. automaker, said sales of its vehicles in Europe rose 5.5 percent in March from a year ago, led by demand for the Fiesta and other models. Ford sold 191,000 cars in March, an increase of 10,000 units from the year-ago period. Sales of Fiesta, Focus C-MAX and Streetka all rose, the company said. It had a 9.8 percent share of the region’s new car market for the month. Its share of the market in the first quarter rose to 9.2 percent. Ford’s share of the U.K. new car market rose to 15.3 percent in March from 14.6 percent a year ago, it said.
