Ford Fiesta debuts in China

The first Ford Fiesta produced by the Chang'an-Ford Automobile Co. rolled off the assembly line on 18 January.
The company which was established in 2001 as a joint venture between Chang'an Automobile Corp. and Ford Motor Co is set to produce 50,000 cars a year when capacity gets to full swing in 2004. This year 20000 cars are expected to be sold.
The Chinese Fiesta is based on the Ford Ikon and it is available either with a 1.3 or a 1.6-liter engine.
