Ford to help disabled drivers avoid London congestion charge
MAGIC, Ford UK’s free information service for disabled and mature drivers, today launched a campaign to urge disabled motorists to claim a discount from the central London congestion charge of £5 a day due to be introduced early next year.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging disabled drivers to register for a 100% discount from the toll scheme, well before it comes into effect on 17 February.
Holders of the orange/blue ‘disabled badge’ dashtop passes, of which there are over 216,000 in London alone, won’t have to pay to drive into central London as long as their details are pre-registered on or before 24 December. MAGIC is working with Transport for London to gather the data, Ford said.
