FORD INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY NAMED ONE OF THE "BEST PLACES TO WORK" BY COMPUTERWORLD

As Ford Motor Company winds down from its historic Centennial celebration in Dearborn, its Information Technology organization is celebrating an additional "100" milestone. InComputerworld magazine's annual survey of leading information technology companies, Ford's Information Technology organization was named one of the "100 Best Places to Work in IT."

"This distinction exemplifies Ford Motor Company's commitment for being the kind of company IT professionals want to work for, " said Marv Adams, Ford Motor Company vice president and CIO. "Technical excellence is vital to enable Ford to deliver competitive advantages, and Ford IT is proud to receive this distinction from Computerworld."

To determine the top 100 companies, Computerworld editors evaluated and ranked a variety of factors, including the company' training and development programs, advancement opportunities, turnover rates, pay and benefits, and the hiring and advancement of women and minority staff. Additionally, Computerworld collected information regarding career opportunities involving working with the latest technological advances, mentoring programs, and a variety of benefits ranging from elder care and childcare to flextime and stock options.

Well done Ford IT. I'm envious of them to be passionate about IT, the company they work for and its products.
