Ford secretly planning to revive Mk1 Capri European Mustang

Ford is secretly planning to revive the Capri—no, not the little Australian roadster sold under the Mercury label, but the iconic British coupe once described as the European Mustang.
The retro-styled Focus-based two-door is an extension of Ford’s ongoing Living Legends project that has so far spawned the Thunderbird, Forty Nine and GT40. Set to debut in concept car form at next year’s Frankfurt motor show, the new Capri is rumored to be in line for a 350-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and four-wheel-drive hardware from the soon- to-be-launched Focus RS.

The basic shape is said to draw heavily on the original Mk1 Capri launched back in 1969 as the European Mustang.
