DEARBORN, Mich., October 10, 2002 – Ford Motor Company today announced that its 2003 Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be held on June 16, 2003 – the company’s 100th anniversary – at the Ford Motor Company Conference & Event Center in Dearborn, Mich.

The 2003 Annual Meeting will be the 48th since the company went public in 1956, and only the seventh to be held in the company’s hometown of Dearborn, Mich.

“By holding our 2003 Annual Meeting on our 100th anniversary and in our hometown, we give our shareholders the unique opportunity to participate in the centennial festivities,” said Bill Ford, chairman and CEO, Ford Motor Company. “We hope that June 16, 2003 will provide our shareholders the opportunity to reflect on our many past accomplishments and create a vision for our continuing success in the future.”

The 2003 Annual Meeting will be approximately one month later than in previous years, therefore the company has extended the date for the submission of shareholder proposals for inclusion in the 2003 proxy statement by about one month, to January 3, 2003.

Additional information concerning the 2003 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, including timing, location and admission information will be included in the company’s 2003 proxy statement to be mailed to shareholders in spring 2003.
