Ford Suvs Held Back
Ford has suspended shipments of many of its sport-utes because of a defect
in the electric motor that operates the four-wheel-drive transfer case,
Automotive News reports. The halt - which a Ford spokesman told the paper
should not involve a recall - affects the Explorer, Expedition and Lincoln
Navigator, as well as the Ranger and F-150 pickups. Production of new
vehicles at the affected plants hasn't been stopped, though.
