IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 27 -- Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover North America today announces that both Jaguar and Land Rover surpassed their 2001 sales in the United States with three months remaining in the year. Jaguar topped last year's record sales year of 44,532 cars, selling 46,006 cars to date. Land Rover has sold 28,426 vehicles, exceeding its 2001 sales of 27,204.
"This year has been an amazing one for Land Rover and Jaguar as both marques set all-time sales records this month," said Doug Speck, vice president of Retail Operations for Aston Martin Jaguar Land Rover North America. "Our product line-up continues to strengthen with the launch of the new XK and we look forward to a great fourth quarter."
The 2003 Jaguar XK has received its most significant update to the car since its original launch in 1996, and the introduction of the XKR models in 2000. Some 900 new or updated component changes have been made to Jaguar's flagship coupe and convertible. The XK range goes on sale Oct. 1, with no price increase over the previous 2002 models.
