New Ford Cars Also Available in Die-Cast

March 3, 2003
Motor Trend

Want to be among the first to own Ford's new GT, but concerned that it's out of your price range? Worry not, as it's also available for purchase in 1:18 scale, and at a significant price reduction.

The Beanstalk Group, the exclusive licensing representative for Ford Motor Company, is releasing new replicas of several Ford models, including the Ford GT and F-150 FX4 introduced at this year's North American International Auto Show, as well as models based on Ford's future designs for the 2005 Mustang GT Coupe and Convertible. Beanstalk also produces a series of James Bond "Die Another Day" die-cast vehicles.

"We have created detailed replicas of some of Ford's most unique and cherished models," says Linden Nelson, CEO of The Beanstalk Group. "The die-cast models successfully pay homage to Ford's newest designs."

First among Beanstalk's 2003 releases will be the new Ford GT in 1:18th scale, die-cast metal. This 500-horsepower automobile is a reincarnation of an American icon, the Ford GT, which went out of production soon after beating Ferrari at the 1966 LeMans car races. The die-cast models are being released in April 2003, before the actual 2003 Ford GT goes into limited production later this year.

The second release will be the F-150 FX4, Ford's best-selling, newly redesigned truck. This model features a moon roof and a new cabin design and details. All four doors open and the rear seat folds up and down. The die-cast model recreates the truck's redesigned exterior, which features bold, strong lines that reflect its tough image. These 1:18th scale models will hit stores in May 2003.

Beanstalk has also recreated Ford's concepts for the 2005 Mustang GT Coupe and Convertible. The models blend the heritage of four generations of automaking with today's technology and techniques and will help commemorate the 40th anniversary of this legendary car. These 1:18th die-cast models will be available in September 2003.

Additionally, Beanstalk will continue to market its introductory James Bond series 1:18th scale vehicles: the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, the Jaguar XKR Roadster, and the Ford Thunderbird, all featured in "Die Another Day." The replicas are outfitted with features that the world's most famous spy, and his enemies, would expect from their ultimate transportation vehicle. These models were released in November 2002.

Sure to be coveted by Ford enthusiasts and collectibles lovers alike, the Ford die-cast models will be available at toy, gift, hobby and collectible stores, including FAO Schwarz, Spencer Gifts, Bloomingdale's, and The Sharper Image, and from www.fordcollection.com and www.exoticar.com. Suggested retail for the James Bond cars is $29. Pricing for the other models will be available closer to their release date.
