Manual XR8 Falcons will become available during January with a RRP of $50,130. Automatic variants will follow in Q2 with an RRP of $51,050.

Ford Australia Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Mr Bruce McDonald says that the demand from customers for the new BA XR8 Falcon has been high.

"Our dealers have been taking orders for the new XR8 since we launched the rest of the BA range late last year. The XR8 program was always going to follow behind the rest of the range due to the development work required on the all-new Boss 260 engine, but the lack of a vehicle to test drive didn't deter customers from placing their orders.

"They're going to be blown away when they actually get to drive their new cars," he said.

The manual XR8 Falcon will become available progressively during January as the company meets customer orders.

The automatic variant will be launched in Q2 when incremental development work to match the transmission to the new Boss 260 engine has been completed.

Does this mean that anyone who was hoping to get an Auto XR8 has to wait until the end of March/early April? ..That's dissapointing. They should have been on to it earlier.

We got an Acid Rush XR8 sedan in today at work. I hate the colour but that bonnet buldge looks great and the engine has a good notr although sounding a little quiet.

No it doesn't unfortunately. I ws a little dissapointed. Believe me it still sounds great, similar to the T3's, but it didn't seem to idle like that ute in the ad.

You guys b!tching about Ford not making it all at once - I'm getting tired. This has been a common thing over the years - look at Holden for example - V8s followed s!xes much later in VL and VN. Autos often followed manuals in HSV cars. Some cars are auto only period.

Get a grip and wait it out! It'll be worth it. Otherwise get a real car with three pedals (he he he)
