What does a 1.3-litre Mazda roadster have in common with Mercedes' S500 luxury saloon? They share near-identical CO2 outputs, that's what.
The Japanese firm has announced emissions figures for its rotary-engined RX-8 sports car - and it's bad news for company car tax payers. The £19,995 189bhp entry-level model emits 267g/km and the £21,995 flagship produces 284g/km - which puts both in the highest 35 per cent tax bracket.
