MOSCOW -- Ford Motor Co. said Monday it expects to increase output at its Russian plant to 21,000 vehicles in 2004, from 17,000 planned for this year.
There is a four-month waiting list of buyers for the Ford Focus cars being produced at the company's Russian factory, said Henrik Nenzen, Ford president for Russia, at a press conference.
Ford has invested $150 million on building the plant near St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city. The factory, the first Russian production site owned by a Western car company, opened in July last year.
