Crain's Detroit Business/11-12-02
DETROIT -- A California company under contract to assemble the Ford GT is eyeing a site in Troy, Mich., to build the $100,000-plus car.
So said Jack Gerken, director of public relations for Saleen Inc., the Irvine, Calif., company in charge of final assembly and painting of the Ford GT.
Gerken said the company is considering several sites in metro Detroit. Saleen would invest at least $10 million in the site and employ 100, according to documents filed with the city of Troy.
