Turkey:Ford aims to double exports from Turkish unit
Autos Insider
ISTANBUL -- Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS, Ford Motor Co.'s Turkish unit,
said it targets 740 million euros ($849 million) of exports this year and aims to more than double that figure next year.
The company aims for 1.5 billion euros of exports in 2004, said Bulent Ozaydinli, chief executive of Koc Holding AS, at a televised press conference in Istanbul. He didn't set a target for overall sales. Koc is the Turkish partner of Ford Motor Co. in the venture.
Ford Otosan, as the company's known, posted a $66 million profit in the second quarter following nine quarters of losses, after a $650 million factory in northwest Turkey started producing in late 2002.
