Two More Awards For Ford Transit
The Ford Transit Connect was endowed with more honours today when it became Commercial Fleet World magazine's Best New Van and Best Small Van. For the second consecutive year, Ford also won the Security Award for commercial vehicles.
"It's fantastic to see the motor industry recognizing the attributes of Transit Connect. It was no accident that Connect inherited all the genes of its big brother Transit. Seeing Transit Connect following in Transit's footsteps along a path lined with awards is a great result for Ford, and a great result for customers looking for a compact van," said Steve Parker, director of commercial vehicles, Ford of Britain.
Speaking about the commercial vehicle security award Gibb Grace, Editor of Commercial Fleet World, said: "Ford set the pace with new Transit as security features, such as lock-in-latch technology and lockable bonnets, set new standards in vehicle security. They helped to raise awareness across the industry and remain unsurpassed."
Ford Transit Connect brings Transit's renowned durability and commercial vehicle design pedigree to the light van and sub-one tonne sector for the first time. It comes with a choice of three British-built petrol and diesel engines, including fuel-efficient common rail diesel technology. With more load space than its competitors, it is a sound business choice. Extended service intervals, low insurance ratings and Transit security features are key contributors to low cost of ownership. Prices range from Ł9,450 to Ł11, 725 (excluding VAT and delivery). So far 8841(ytd end April 2003) Transit Connect's have been sold in Britain
