California-based Hydrogen Car Company and Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. aim to jointly develop a full line of hydrogen internal combustion-powered vehicles to be manufactured by Shelby and sold by HCC, with production said to start later this year. Their effort will involve modifying the engine and fuel storage systems of existing sport coupe, SUV, and pickup models to run on clean-burning hydrogen fuel. No details are yet available on cost.
Separately, HCC has formed a partnership with Stuart Energy Systems that will allow HCC to exclusively offer its customers Stuart Energy hydrogen fueling systems including the Personal Energy Station, currently under development for home use, and Stuart's larger-scale Hydrogen Energy Station that's designed for fleet fueling.
