LAND ROVER UK and Land Rover N. America, have filed a lawsuit against Bear Valley Land Rovers Vehicles Sales Inc of Georgia USA.
The specific charges are that Bear Valley :
submitted false and fraudulent warranty claims
committed acts of trademark infringement, cyber squatting, and unfair competition
pretended to be a franchised Land Rover dealer.
Bear Valley, which sells only used Land Rover vehicles, and claims to have purchased $40m-worth of vehicles from Land Rover during the past 8-years, has denied all the claims.
Ken Cunningham, of Bear Valley told AutoWired his company was Land Rover's number one customer for several years. "In the past month, Bear Valley was once again awarded a $2000 travel certificate for being the number one Land Rover buyer for the 1st Quarter 2004. It's as if the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing," he said.
