Base price for Fusion awd: $23,430

The all-wheel-drive version of the Ford Fusion sedan will have a base price of $23,430, including shipping, Ford Motor Co. said today.
Awd is being added to the Fusion lineup for the 2007 model year. The drivetrain is available only on Fusions equipped with the 3.0-liter V-6 engine.
The awd Fusion has a $1,850 premium over a front-drive Fusion with the V-6, which has a base price of $21,580, including shipping.
Ford expects that about one-fourth of the 2007 Fusion models will be equipped with awd. About 50 percent of Fusions are equipped with the V-6 and the other half with the base 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, a Ford spokesman said.
For the year, Ford has sold 111,086 Fusions through September.
