Nobody’s saying much about it, but don’t be surprised if a carbon fiber-bodied Panoz now in development ends up with the Ford GT’s supercharged 5.4-liter V8 as its powerplant. Word is Panoz is working on a deal to buy 40 or so of the 550-hp engines for a future car, possibly named Abruzzi. Ford and Panoz are mum on the rumored GT engine deal, but John Leverett, Panoz director of sales and marketing, did say, “I’m sure that motor will be something we’ll be looking at,” along with Ford V10 engines.
