Ford names truck product executive to lead Canada unit

DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. has named William Osborne as president and CEO of Ford of Canada, effective Nov. 1.
Osborne, who had been a top product development executive at Ford Motor, replaces Joe Hinrichs. Ford Motor last week promoted Hinrichs to vice president of North America vehicle operations.
The Tuesday, Oct. 18 appointment of Osborne, 45, rounds out a spate of executive changes begun last week. In that management shakeup, Anne Stevens was promoted to COO of the Americas, and Ford's North American product chief Phil Martens left the company.
A 15-year Ford veteran, Osborne most recently had been executive director of pickup and commercial truck development in North America. He had held that role since December 2003. Ford Motor credits growth of the Ford F-series Super Duty pickup line in part to Osborne, who previously had been vehicle line executive for the Super Duty and the Ford Excursion SUV.
One other officer position that was vacated last week -- vice president of North American engineering -- will be dropped, a Ford executive said. Those duties will be divided between Derrick Kuzak and Paul Mascarenas, the executive said.
Kuzak, who had most recently held the engineering vice president role, was promoted last week to group vice president of product development for the Americas. Mascarenas is vice president of North American vehicle programs.
Ford also won't appoint a new group vice president of Canada, Mexico and South America, the job Stevens had held most recently. Instead, the individual heads of those markets will report directly to Mark Fields, Ford's president of the Americas.
My first car was a 67 Mustang Coupe, 2nd one was a 67 Cougar XR-7, 3rd one was a 66 Mustang Coupe. Why did I get rid of these cars for ? I know why, because I'm stupid, stupid, stupid.
My next Ford.....
